3 Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Lip Injections

lip enhancement Chevy Chase MDLip injections are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures that we offer patients here at our office. As a fun and temporary way to add volume and definition to your smile, lip injections can help you feel like your sexiest self almost instantly. To make sure that you get the most out of your injections, we have created a list of three easy tips.

Schedule Them In Advance

Depending on how you respond to the injections, you may have a lot of tenderness, swelling and bruising around your lips which can last up to two weeks. Try to plan ahead of time and get your injections one at least two weeks before a big event; that way you can show off your lips without dealing with bruising.

Don’t Take NSAIDs

Even though over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen are great at helping you deal with swelling, they can also cause more bruising since they are blood thinners. Make sure that you avoid taking any ibuprofen for at least a few days before your injections.

Cover Up Bruises With Makeup

You don't want to be in hiding after you get lip injections, but you probably don’t want everyone to know that you just got them done either. If you do have some bruising on your lips afterwards, remember that you can always conceal the bruises with a little bit of concealer and a whole lot of lipstick; that way, you won’t have to feel self-conscious about your new pout.
