The Many Benefits of Microdermabrasion

During your forties, the natural cell turnover begins to slow down, resulting in a dull complexion. Microdermabrasion can contribute to restoring your skin’s youth, erasing sun damage, and improving fine lines and dark spots.

Microdermabrasion involves exfoliating the skin using small particles in order to expedite cell turnover and stimulate new cell growth. At our office, we utilize genuine sapphire granules located on a gently vibrating tip, which while passing across the skin surface, removes the outermost layer of dead skin. This safe, no-downtime, painless, yet effective patented Swiss technology represents a form of the newest, state of the art, “coarse grit” microdermabrasion technique.

Coarse grit microdermabrasion has been observed to induce collagen production in the skin which may lead to reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. For best results, we generally recommend 5-6 treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart. With consecutive treatments, we progressively increase the size of the sapphire granules to give you the best possible results leading to smoother, younger, and softer skin. Ultimately, thanks to regular exfoliation, your skin will also be more “receptive” to the beneficial effects of topical skincare products such as retinoids, antioxidants, peptides, or skin-lightening agents.

  Is VI Peel for You?

This award-winning new peel from Kalil Medical has been featured on the Doctors Show and Extra TV Show. Just one peel may produce noticeable results; however, depending on your individual needs and the degree of sun damage, VI Peel can be performed three to four times a year, or even once a month.

Immediately after the peel, your skin will look slightly tan, yellow, or pink, however the actual peeling starts on day three post-peel, and is usually finished by day five. To mitigate the peeling, we recommend aggressive moisturizing of the skin during the recovery period. Makeup can be applied four hours after the peel. If your peel is performed on Wednesday, most of the peeling will occur over the weekend and be over by Monday.

Please call our office at 301.656.7546 to request a brochure.

Introducing our Pure Skincare Solution’s Antioxidant Eye Serum

This nourishing antioxidant formula contains coenzyme Q-10, green tea leaf extract, along with liposomal vitamins A, C, and E. It is paraben-free, non-irritating, and suitable for even the most-sensitive skin. Thanks to the high content of hyaluronic acid, this ultra-hydrating serum immediately diminishes the appearance of fine lines by alleviating dryness. Dry skin, especially in the lower eyelid area, accentuates the appearance of fine lines. Antioxidant eye serum is quickly becoming our winter best-seller!

AVENE EAU THERMALE- Your Answer to Dry and Sensitive Winter Skin

Over 50% of women consider their skin to be sensitive and intolerant to many skincare products. Their concerns may include redness, scaling, tightening, and occasional tingling, or itching. Such symptoms generally worsen in the winter.

Avene Tolerance Extreme products are especially formulated for hypersensitive skin and are preservative-free, fragrance-free, and surfactant-free. These products are produced in a unique, sterile manufacturing process similar to the standards used in a production of injectible medications.

Avene Thermal Spring Water from the Cevennes Mountains in Avene, France, is the key element in all Avene skincare products. Thanks to its 40-year journey through the Cevennes Mountains, Avene Thermal Spring Water acquires a perfectly balanced mineral composition enriched with silicates, magnesium and selenium that help restore skin’s natural balance.

Avene products are ideal for patients whose skin may be irritated from retinoid (Retin A®, Refissa®, Tazorac® or retinol) use. Please stop by our office for a complimentary sample of our favorite Avene moisturizer!
